What we collect and why
Usage events: which page you open, which city you check or compare, shares, language and age choices, and clicks to other sites. Each event carries your browser language, time zone and the page that sent you. We use them to count visits and to see which cities people care about (legitimate interest). If you accept analytics, the events also carry a random session ID kept in your browser for that visit, so we can tell one visit from many (consent).
Approximate location: to show the cigarettes for the place you are in, your IP address is looked up by our hosting edge and, as a fallback, by GeoJS (get.geojs.io). We only keep the nearest city on the index, not your IP or coordinates.
Exact location: only if you tap “Use my exact location”. Your browser asks you first; the coordinates are matched to the nearest city inside your browser and are never sent to us.
Email: only if you sign up for the yearly update or send a press request. We store the email, what you asked for, the city and your language, and use them only to reply or send that update (consent). Every email lets you unsubscribe.
Who processes it for us
Lovable and Cloudflare (hosting and delivery, including anonymous page statistics), Supabase (database), GeoJS (approximate location), Google Fonts and jsDelivr (fonts). Some of them are in the United States; transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable. We never sell or rent personal data and we show no advertising.
How long we keep it
Usage events: up to 24 months, then deleted or reduced to totals. Emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Settings in your browser stay there until you clear them.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time (on the cookies page). You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in Spain the AEPD, in Denmark Datatilsynet.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We will update this page if anything changes. Last updated 2026-10-11.
